WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT :

Home stay in an organic farm in a Himalayan village in west Sikkim which provides spectacular views of Mount Kanchenjunga. The experience comprises long countryside walks, Buddhist monasteries, ruins of the old capital of Sikkim and a close look at life in a rural farm in this remote corner of India.

The tariff on double occupancy basis is Rs 5500 per day including all meals.

  • Rooms Tibetan style

    There are 5 rooms which are simple and rustic in nature. Built in traditional Tibetan style, the rooms are wood paneled. The rooms have attached bathroom and running hot water.

    The hosts serve traditional Sikkimese & cuisine. The Momos are outstanding.

    Thendup Tashi is a great host who takes pains to ensure guests get a quiet peaceful experience of life in a country farm on the foothills of the Himalayas. His guided walks around the villages surrounding the farm are fantastic.

  • Suggested Activity #1 Countryside walks

    The walk in the country side with Thendup as a guide is highly recommended. His knowledge of the history and culture of sikkim is remarkable. Intricate painting in the walls of the villages as well as prayer halls are noteworthy.

  • Suggested Activity #2 Monastery trail

    Pemayangtse Monastery is one of the most important monasteries in Sikkim and a must visit. There is a great collection of religious idols and objects of worship. The highlight is on the top floor which features a masterpiece by Rimpoche.

  • Suggested Activity #3 Trip to Pelling

    The drive to Pelling is very scenic. Thendup can organize a picnic lunch which can be had at the helipad situated in Pelling under the gaze of the mighty Kanchenjunga.

  • Suggested Activity #4 Tour of Rabdentse

    Rabdentse was the second capital of Sikkim in the 17th century. The ruins give an idea of how the Kings of Sikkim used to live. One can see the king’s bed room, assembly hall and kitchen, public courtyard and palace guards’ rooms.

  • Suggested Activity #5 Trekking

    Thendup is well familiar with all the trails that hike up the Himalayas from the farm. Treks here range from 3 hours to 5 days. Two of the recommend trails are Rabongla to Maenam and Hilley to Varsay. He can organize a trek basis the fitness levels and interest of the guests.
