The hosts, The Angre family, are direct descendants of legendary Kanhogi Angre, first Admiral of the Maratha Navy. The family migrated from the Konkan (Maharashtra) to Gwalior. Thus, ‘Sambhaji Vilas’ also known as ‘Angre Sahib Ka Bada’ was built by Sardar Sambhaji Rao Angre I during his lifetime [1750-1846].
