Experience Goa through a homestay in a village besides a river. Olaulim Backyards helps you discover the rural Goa away from the beaches. Pets for company comprise 3 dogs, a cat, a donkey and 2 goats. Other than lazying around, possible activities are kayaking, canoeing, cycling, fishing and village walks.
The charges are 5200 Rs for double occupancy during October- May, 4500 Rs June-September and 8500 Rs 18th Dec-5th Jan. The rate includes breakfast, all taxes and in-house activities. Extra charge for kids between 3-10 years is 700 Rs while above 10 years and extra adult is charged at 1400 Rs.

Sunbird is by the edge of the paddy field, the same level as the swimming pool with a four poster bed and antique furniture. Hornbill is roomier enough for a family with two children. It is built partly in the rock on the slope and has a king-size double bed and a loft in the rock for children to sleep on. Golden Oriole is located at an elevation and is ideal for couples. perfect for a couple. The large windows overlook the swimming pool and the lake. There is an outdoor staircase down to the toilet below.

FoodGoan & Indian cuisine
Traditional Goan as well as Indian cuisine is usually served. The charges are Rs 600 per meal per adult. Kids are charges at 300 a meal.

HostsSavio and Pirkko Fernandes
Olaulim Backyards is a creation of shared dreams of the much traveled Savio and Pirkko. Their idea was to build a Goan Casa by the Olaulim River, careful to keep away from the tempting beaches and its ever-increasing tourists. Other members of the host family are 2 children Manuel and Shameena. Max, Shibu and Laku are dogs. Mantra is a donkey, Richard Parker is a cat. Billy & Lilly are two goats.

Suggested Activity #1Kayaking
Manos, the water body in front of the homestay, offers a splendid chance to try out canoes/kayaks and a rowing boat available. For the relatively more adventurous, they can row further down the the water body till the Mandovi river.

Suggested Activity #2Cycling
Cycles are available to watch life go by in a typical Goan village. The roads are traffic free and cycling is a soothing experience in these parts.

Both line or fishing net are available for fishing in the lake. The hosts can cook your catch for your next meal as well.

Golden Oreole, Lapwing, Drungoo, several species of Sunbird, Kingfisher and the amazing Hornbill can be spotted.

Suggested Activity #2Scuba Diving & snorkeling
The hosts can make arrangements for scuba diving and snorkeling as well. Exciting shipwrecks, exotic, colourful marine life and pretty coral bays are in the offing, These will be managed by external diving groups and are charged separately.
