WHAT TO EXPECT

A heritage home stay near Ooty & Coonoor, set in the midst of a 120 acre estate that grows tea, coffee, pepper and orange. Originally built in 1851, the Estate House provides scenic views of waterfalls and streams which attract bison and deer.

Tariff ranges from Rs 4950-7500 per night for the 7 cottages on a twin sharing basis. This includes breakfast, lunch and dinner. Extra person is charged Rs 1500 while kids between 8-14 are charged Rs 800.

    There are 3 cottages. The estate house is the main bungalow on O’land Plantation which was redesigned using the framework of the old manager’s bungalow that was originally built in 1851. The guest bedrooms are located on the upper storey of the bungalow while the main dining room and kitchen are on the ground floor. 2 Guest Bedrooms with own bathrooms, large balconies with views of mountains and waterfall, charming interiors including mosaic chip tiling in bathroom, interesting handmade clay washbasins and custom-made furniture. Hornbill House boasts spectacular close-up views of the waterfall. 2 Guest Bedrooms with own bathrooms overlooking waterfall & valley. Large lounge room and dining spaces with a small pantry. the Pepper House has three guest bedrooms with their own bathrooms. There is loft accommodation for children in the upstairs bedroom.

  • Food South Indian cuisine

    For breakfast, eggs & toast with butter and jam is served along with a South Indian preparation.. For Lunch/Dinner there are two vegetarian dishes and one non vegetarian dish with rice and chapatis. All meals are served in the dining room at the Estate House.

  • HostSajan Devaiah

    Sajan is passionate about eco friendly tourism and has provided solar lighting, bamboo furniture and water saving devices in the property. There is also a biomass converter to heat water thereby making good use of the dried leaves and other bio-waste on the estate.
