Brown Palace is located along the Lidder River and dates back to the early 70s, with various types of rooms. The furnishings are comfortable without any hint of luxury. The bungalow are fully furnished and even in the coldest winter months, when snow blankets the ground, the bungalows are fully operational.

Brown Palace is situated in a quiet place 20 minutes’ walk from the main market of Pahalgam. It provides clean and cozy rooms with magnificent view of the Lidder river.

This Pahalgam hometsay has 15 rooms comprising of Budget, Deluxe, Suite rooms and Bunglows. Tariff ranges from Rs.900 to Rs.13500/- for one bedroom per night depending on the meal plan. Taxes are not included. Extra bed can cost from Rs.550 to Rs.1100/-.

    Brown Palace provides you with clean and cosy rooms that have magnifying views. All rooms have attached bathroom including hot showers. Beside this, the single and double bedroom-bungalows are very popular choices with visitors who stay longer than a week. The bungalows are fully furnished and even in the coldest winter months, when snow blankets the ground, the bungalow are fully operational. The rooms are cozy, comfortable with all amenities and well carpeted, wooden carved and taken care by an ever smiling and helpful staff.

  • Suggested Activity #1 Pahalgam Walks

    There are many short walks available from Pahalgam, and in addition it is an excellent base for longer treks such as those to the Kolahoi glacier or to the Amarnath cave. Pahalgam can also be used as a starting point for treks out of the region. Pahalgam is particularly famed for its many shepherds and they’re a common sight, driving their flocks of sheep along the paths all around the town.

    The trout fish is in abundance in lidder. Even a novice can manage a handsome catch. These Fisheries department also offers some beats to catch the fish on nominal fee and rightly the place is called “Angler’s paradise”.

  • Suggested Activity #3 Camping / Trekking

    Treks can be possible to Kalahoi glacier, the route passes through Aru, Satlanjan and Dudsar Lake and also through the Zojila Pass to Leh. Basic equipments for camping are readily available. A trek through the alpine forests, with crystal clear waters wading swiftly though the trees, to give you company, is a must to explore nature in its greenest best
