Auro Grace is a beautiful homestay in the heart of the city of Amritsar which offers a calm and serene atmosphere conducive to a spiritual lifestyle. It houses a boutique with a variety of authentic Indian designer wear; the “Orchard” where one can satisfy the taste buds to delectable and pure fruit jams, squashes and stews, a Gallery with creative artefacts, designer gifts, books and paintings with a cultural and spiritual significance, and a garments section where one can chose from a spectrum of patterns on pure whites.

This Amritsar homestay has  4 double rooms and 1 dormitory to accommodate 6 beds and the tariff ranges from Rs.3500 to Rs.6000 for one bedroom per night. The above rates are inclusive of bed & breakfast.

    Auto Grace has 4 bedrooms and one dorm room that accommodates six beds (especially for groups). All the rooms are elegantly furnished with self-controlled ACs, attached bathrooms and spacious wardrobes & luggage racks. All guest have use of common facilities which include lounge, cable TV and yoga room (for groups only). Guests may use the common kitchen pantry that the amenities like microwave oven, water kettle for tea / coffee (tea bags, coffee and sugar provided) and basic vessels.

  • Suggested Activity #1 Golden Temple (Harmandir Sahib)

    It is one of the most sacred pilgrimage spots for Sikhs. The temple derives its name from its fully golden dome. The temple is built over marble and is two storied high structure. Guru Ram Das, the fourth Guru of Sikhs had initially built a pool here which currently houses the Temple. It is the epicentre of Sikhism. The Granth Sahib is kept in the Temple during day time and at night it is kept in the Akal Takht or Eternal Throne. The Akal Takht also contains the ancient weapons used by the Sikh warriors. There is also a Central Sikh Museum atop the clock tower. The ‘Guru Ka Langar’ offers free food to approximately two thousand people every day with number going up to one lakh on special occasions. A visitor to the temple must cover his or her head all the time while in the temple premises.

    Wagah is the only road border crossing between Pakistan and India between Aritsar and Lahore cities.Wagah also termed as “Wagha” in Pakistan.The international border between India and Pakistan is located at a distance of 28 km from Amritsar. The ceremonial display of the Beating Retreat and Change of Guard makes it an extraordinary spectacle. The soldiers from both countries demonstrate great enthusiasm and spirit as nationalistic fervor rises amidst roaring applause.

  • Suggested Activity #3 Jallianwala Baugh

    Jallianwala Bagh is a public garden located in Amritsar, Punjab in India. In the pre-Independence era, public rallies were organized on the grounds of Jallianwala Bagh. Inside the garden, a memorial was built in 1951. This was in remembrance of the innocent people who died in the 1919 massacre. Later on, a flame in honor of the martyrs was added. Since then, it has become the center of political and humanitarian significance. Dignitaries around the world, whether of political or social significance, have visited the place and offered their regrets and respect including Queen Elizabeth II in 1997. It remains to date a heartfelt and extremely sad memory in the hearts of Indians throughout the world.
