WHAT TO EXPECT

Rose Garden is a homestay in Munnar and is located at 3500 ft above sea level. It is located 10 km from Munnar, in the midst of cardamom plantations. Eco friendly environs, garden fresh vegetables & fruits from the plantation farm, seasonal tropical fruits available round the year, honey served fresh from the bee keeping unit, farm grown fresh coffee and cool & clear potable water from the natural spring are in the offing.

Room service, air-conditioning and television are not there. What you get is a family ambience, local food, home kitchen, and meals with the family.

The twin Ensuite rooms are capable of accommodating two families. Tariff ranges from Rs 4000-5500 per night for Double occupancy. This includes breakfast and taxes.

    Rose gardens is almost a century old building erected with fine stones, tiled roof and wooden ceiling. The twin Ensuite rooms are capable of accommodating two families, are clean and comfortable, with attached bathrooms and verandahs built in the traditional style overlooking the lush native forest.

  • Food Kerala Delicacies

    Specialities include rice noodles with Egg curry, Dosa/ Idly with Chutneys and Pickles, Puttu with Kadala curry, etc for breakfast. Lunch consists of a typical vegetarian meal of Rice with Sambar, Thoran, Avail and Pappad. Chappathi with veg or non veg curries like Stew and Kurma are served for dinner. Besides, tea and snacks like Vada and Cutlet are served in the evening.

    Tomy is a post graduate in Botany who provides assistance in maintaining and developing various gardens and resorts in Munnar. He also maintains a variety of nurseries of flowering plants, herbal plants, fruits, etc.

    The grasslands at Munnar provide great trekking routes to the nature lover. During these treks you come face to face with the spectacular beauty of the wilderness here, the magnificent wildlife(the unique Nilgiri Tahr) and the exotic flora(the exclusive Neelakurinji blossoms) that inhabit the forests of this region. The Home arranges for short & long trekking trips of different durations as per the convenience of the visitors to the tea plantations and other local viewpoints. They also assist you with vehicle arrangements for sightseeing and further courses.

    An exciting and exclusive residential Cookery Course exclusively meant for our guests at home, led by food specialist Mrs.Rajee Tomy who introduces you to the nuances of Kerala cooking. You get to do it along with others who share your passion for food, in a relaxing environment. All of the recipes of the food prepared during the classes are provided alongside. Catering classes are offered in basic, popular Kerala dishes with special focus on the non-vegetarian items and include a wide variety of traditional Kerala cuisine such as chappathi, appam, rice noodles, fish curry, chicken dishes, cutlets, etc.
