WHAT TO EXPECT
Built in the 1930s, Dalethorpe is a charming English bungalow nestled between the evergreen slopes of Kodaikanal. Though set on Convent Road which is less than a Kilometer from the lake and in close proximity to the heart of the tourist town , it is tucked away in its own little corner away from all hustle and bustle.
Set in one and a half acres of lush green land, this Kodaikanal homestay is surrounded by meadows, Pine groves, Eucalyptus trees & Wattles. Flanked by beautiful lawns and a garden with exotic organically grown ornamental flowers and medicinal plants, Dalethorpe is a haven for a relaxing holiday. And that’s not all, if you are lucky, you could probably even spot some of the most beautiful birds native to Kodai including the Nilgiri Laughing Thrush, White Eye, Serpent Eagle, to name a few.
There are 7 rooms with the price ranging from Rs.2000 for a Standard room to Rs.4000 for a Cottage per night, inclusive of complimentary breakfast.

Dalethorpe has 2 spacious suite cottages and a big hall surrounded by chequered glass in the heritage portion. The extension portion has 2 deluxe rooms & 2 standard rooms. They also have a rustically made one independent heritage cottage with fireplace which is completely detached from the main bungalow but located right behind the bungalow on a small hillock. The rooms have LCD TV with DTH connection and 24 hours hot water. At Dalethorpe, they believe in personalized service and offer a wide variety of homemade vegetarian and non-vegetarian food from their well equipped and well-stocked kitchen. They also arrange Barbeque night with bonfire. Coffee/tea, breakfast, lunch, & dinner can be served in the room, garden or lounge as per the mood, comfort and convenience of the guest.

Suggested Activity #1Boating in Kodai Lake
Kodaikanal lake is a home to various birds and the 5kms long path that is near the shores of the lake is one of the favorite places thattourists use for a casual walk and enjoy the beauty of the nature. Pedal boats and row boats can be availed by the tourists here along with horses and bicycles.
Suggested Activity #2Coakers Walk
Coakers Walk is one place you must visit when in Kodaikanal. It is a 1km long pathway constructed on the slopes of a hillock and is one of the most serene places you will ever visit in India. The long walk provides the most picturesque views of the hills and a rare phenomenon where your shadow is cast on the clouds that envelop the area called ‘Brocken Spectre’ can be witnessed.
Suggested Activity #3Dolphin’s Nose
A popular trekking spot in Kodaikanal, Dolphin’s Nose is rock which projects over a wide chasm which is approximately 2,000 meters deep. Its peculiar shape is the reason behind the name and one can witness the most breathtaking views of the Western Ghats from here. One can also access the amazing Pambar or the Liril Falls here which is an amazing hidden attraction.

A famous picnic spot, The Bryant Park is 20.5acres botanical garden and is situated at the east end of the Kodaikanal Lake. The park is filled with a variety of flora which includes around 325 species of trees, cactus and shrubs and a massive 740 species of roses. The various horticulture and flower shows are organized every summer and is a popular place where you can relax and get lost in the lush green surroundings.
